Where parents of the developmentally disabled network with other families and professionals
AAAFDD is an all volunteer advocacy group for families of the developmentally disabled in the Atlanta Metro area. We meet monthly at the Tucker Recreation Center. Our mission is to provide opportunities for parents to network with other families and professionals in order to make informed decisions on quality of life issues that affect their children.
AAAFDD was created for educational purposes only and intended to benefit families of children with developmentally disabilities. If you have any suggestions on how to improve our site or would like to contribute information, please submit your input in our feedback form.
Guest speaker meetings provide critical information to parents who are haunted by questions such as: What happens to a son or daughter with special needs when parents are no longer able to care for their loved one? How do we apply for a waiver? When should we apply for SSI? What lies beyond governmental red tape? How do we find a provider? Should we keep our son/daughter in school until age 22? AAAFDD works with other organizations to improve the services in Georgia for our developmentally disabled community.
Meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the fourth Monday of the month, eight times per year, at the Tucker Recreation Center. If you are a parent, we need you to come and participate.
